The situation we are all in has forced us to reevaluate and restructure everything about our lives. Those of us with movement practices have been forced from the spaces and communities we love, and confined to limited equipment, space and guidance. Amidst the challenges and discomfort, what opens up, however, is an opportunity to learn and grow in a new way.
Over the next week, I will be offering three free introductory Strength and Mobility classes via Zoom—no equipment necessary. These classes will you give you a taste of something that I am very excited to introduce: a month-long intensive course that will teach the foundations of bodyweight strength training beginning in early April.
The purpose of this course is two-fold: to teach you the fundamentals of bodyweight strength training so that you can train safely and effectively on your own at home, and to act as a prerequisite in order for students to join future classes with me. This will make the rate of progress grow exponentially as everyone will be on the same page and have the same level of knowledge and understanding. I'm very excited to begin teaching this way as it will greatly increase efficiency.
The 4-week course will require some essential equipment for at-home bodyweight training, in particular: a doorway pull-up bar, gymnastic rings, parallettes, and resistance bands. The prices on these vary, but I've put together a list on amazon that comes to around $120 (the prices are fluctuating a bit right now since everyone is scooping up these items quit quickly!). I'll talk more about the course at the end of each meeting this week.
Class size for these courses will be limited so that I can keep an eye (albeit virtually) on everyone's practices, and provide specific and personalized feedback.
I truly look forward to seeing you all there!
With gratitude,
Ari
