Join us on the sunny and beautiful beaches of Tulum, Mexico for a week-long intensive that will take a deep dive into the nuts and bolts of your movement practice. The Movement Mechanics retreat is an intelligent, multidisciplinary movement program that will give you the tools necessary to significantly increase your strength, flexibility, and mental game. This will be an unforgettable week of yoga, handstands, gymnastics-based conditioning, and functional recovery exercises set in the lush landscape of a private villa in Tulum, Mexico, and fueled by fresh, locally-sourced food prepared for you daily.

Be refreshed: Sleep soundly in one of the five apartment houses situated on a picturesque Spanish farm with spectacular amenities and stunning views.
Be nourished: Three farm-fresh, wholesome meals per day provided by our fantastic on-site chef. The menu is gluten-free with plenty of vegetarian options available.
Be recovered: Lounge in the sun by the fresh, mineral water swimming pool by day and relax in the sauna by night after a hard day’s workout.

Take a guided group tour of the farm:
Learn the local farming practices, identify local plants, and learn the history of the farm directly from its owner, Juaquim, whose family has been cultivating this land for several generations.
Group hike:
We’ll wind our way down a steep train, take a dip in the refreshing stream at the bottom of the valley, and finish in a nearby local town where you can buy the local wares and enjoy a well-deserved post-hike meal!

Cortijo Caseria Del Mercado is a small, organic farm located in the Alpujarras mountains of southern Spain. You’ll enjoy amazing views, eat fresh, farm-to-table meals, and train in the crisp, clear Andalucian air.
The cortijo is a unique set up in that the property is like a little village with several little apartments offering different level of privacy. Simple, yet comfortable accommodation with a communal and family feel.

CAMPING
We have unlimited space for camping, there are 6 full bathrooms with hot showers for the campers. Students must bring their own gear (we do have a couple of extra tents and mattresses for emergencies but not enough to provide for everyone).
Dining
Farming at the Cortijo is fully organic and biodynamic. Almonds, olive and figs are grown in huge quantities along with an array of other fruit and vegetables. Food and a cook for your course will be arranged by the farm. Three meals a day can be protein based vegetarian or with meat. Our chefs can meet most dietary requirements.
Most of the apartments have a kitchen so it's also easy for participants to cook their own extra meals if needed.

Meet Your Coaches
ARI HALBERT
Ari is a gifted teacher with a diverse education, an extraordinary eye for detail and an unparalleled understanding of biomechanics and its application to strength training and mobility. A licensed acupuncturist, holistic nutrition coach, qi gong instructor, certified gymnastics strength training coach, and registered yoga teacher with over a decade of experience, Ari brings a diverse, multi-disciplinary approach to his work and has helped many find their maximum potential in movement.
His background in engineering, in-depth studies of biomechanics, and hands-on training in human anatomy enable him to help clients recover quickly from injury, achieve greater overall stability, and build functional strength. Ari is an expert in breaking down complex movement principles in a way that is easy to digest and helps people to move with greater precision, and control.
Ari has an acupuncture practice in New York City and holds workshops internationally, teaching yoga, qi gong, and gymnastics strength conditioning. To learn more visit AriHalbert.com
NOAH JULIAN
Following a brief career as a concert violinist, cut short by a struggle with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Noah Julian began a lifelong wholistic approach to his personal health and wellness. His education and research over the past two decades has led down many areas of specialization including those related to optimal human movement.
Noah’s teaching largely involves Calisthenics (body-weight strength training) coupled with the work and teaching of Nevine Michaan of Katonah Yoga®. Noah served as co-founder of Philadelphia’s Yoga and Movement Sanctuary (YMS), as well as co-leader of YMS’s 250 hour teacher training. Noah teaches a regular class schedule (for multiple levels) throughout the Philadelphia area and can periodically be found teaching workshops and trainings throughout the United States.
